I find I can't concentrate only on modeling skill---the way the whole thing is pulled off influences my decision no matter what.... But such is life! (:
Too many excellent choices! I went with the ones that were potentially real.

Impossible to pick three.
Since I'm really working on building a humanoid head right now,
those close ups of a face interested me more.
I really would like to vote for Both for Strangler.jpg
and Redbull.jpg for first place. Also honorable
mention should go to StrikePose, the spider. The modeland the stage work were amazing, problem was itwasn't shot as well as it should have been.

Well, great pictures, but I thought the suject was ugly, not scary. May I point out that part (everything except the guy)of the image 15 comes from the game

that are able to create so exciting/different/interesting/fantastic/odd/andsoonimages in it... keep up the good work all... i will definatelygive lightwave another try :)

Strangler is close to perfection.Bloodbath is making me sick. :)RedBull is one badass dude. Looks this a guy from the upcomming Diablo2.The Cannibal and AxeMan pictures are also very good. To sad you can only pick 3, when there are so many good ones.

Je parle le français et je vote pour l'image n°12.
There's some really good stuff here! I esp. had trouble choosing my 3rd place choice, but since I'm partial to tarantulas (I have my pet tarantula Rosey :), I went with that one (although I thought the lighting was just too flat and dark the modeling is awesome),

This time it was hard to choose between many different hi quality productions: I had to leave out some entries which deserved for sure, and I've just choosen the remaining ones which had a special feeling to me. Congratulations to all!

I look for a balance of modeling, texturing and lighting. If I look at an image and immediately start figuring out technical details, the artist has failed. If I look, and immediately have an emotional reaction or am pulled into the scene by its credibility, the artist has succeeded.

Most of them are very good modeling, but only few have good texturing. But the average quality of this months contest is one of the top.
Even though we are only supposed to judge the subject model, I can't help but base my selction on the complete image.
The imapct delivered by these three would not be there with out the background,lighting, and detail. These are art!
