"Hope"

The falcon object is pretty basic and was created using metaNURBS. The sky is just a flat plain transparency mapped with fractal noise for the clouds and set against a blue background with a large lens flare for the sun.

The ocean is a variation of the tutorial on the Newtek web site, with a slight fogging effect to blend it into the sky.

I put the island and the twig in at the last moment to make the picture more interesting, I know in the story "Noah's Ark" it's supposed to be a dove, but I didn't have the time to change it.

Using Lightwave v5.0 the whole scene took about 3 minutes to render on a PII 300 with 64mb ram. The only post processing done was some touching up of the textures on the falcon using PhotoShop.
