I couldn't resist sending this even though it's a still from an
animation rendered previous to contest topic announcement.  The car is a
resurfaced Newtek Thunderbird.  The clouds and lightening were separate
elements from storm footage I shot on Hi-8, composited in Image FX. 
Dark sheets of rain were also added with transparency-mapped planes. 
Two masses of particles and two trans-mapped cones of dust swirl at the
base.  Dozens of larger debris fragments were keyframed individually.

The snaking tornado is seen to rip up sparking telephone poles and hurls
the car at camera.  The stuck car horn can also be heard rapidly growing
louder until impact.  I was modeling it after the scariest storm I've
ever seen...the one in Wizard of Oz.
