Also, a photoreal contest or maybe something like realistic machinery would be a good area. Especially if the objects were fairly common; that would be a good test of one's modeling mettle.

Wow. Time to take another look at those shaders...
Hard choice this month. The images I picked for 1st and 2nd are both deserving of 1st place.

I was just wondering if you could give me a small explaination of how
you would go about combining shaders together, and what a shader is exactly.
I am new to computer animation and I am looking for all the information I can get
my hands on. I plan on winning this contest in a few months!
I choose the falls mainly because I liked the imagery.. even though I think the water surface looks way too much like the crumple texture.

First time in quite a while I haven't been able to find time to put an image together for the LWML contest. Boy, do I regret it. To all the artists that did contribute...well done.

I just want to say that I was to vote on Entry #2. the shaders look very good there... But this 'Sun' is so WRONG!
I assume thi scene is on Earth (only one Sun!) orryu if I misjudged!

Would you make the contests less 5.6 related? I mean, me and others just have the 5 version. No complain here, just a suggestion. Keep the good work on the list. :)
