I seem to have a fixation with UFO's. I needed to have
some fun and this guy is the result. The Alien guy is a
metanurbed model, with seperate objects for the tunic, arms,
and eyes. They are all textured using the Silhouette fresnal
shader from the 3d Lab in combination with the Super Cell
shader. The glass dome uses the Realitools Fresnal shader
twice, once for transparentcy and a complementry setting for
reflection.
The UfO body also uses two Realitools fresnal shaders, one
for diffusion and a complimentary setting for reflection.
I also added a probably unnecessary 'Metal' shader out of
the shaderman package.
The Firey sunset I snagged out of the images/backdrop folder
of some object collection, and aplied it as a reflection map.
As much as I love all the fancy shaders, when I tried to
render shadows through the transparent surface onto a shaded
surface it either crashed, locked up, or made my clocks run
backwards. Problem is that once you start using fresnal
shading, nothing looks good with out it.
