Artist's Comments
"The Button" Commander Norton weighs heavily what he must do. With his shields wearing down and the Gimbalians preparing to board, he has little choice. He must destroy his ship less the Gimbalians get their hands upon his precious cargo.

The exploding flame is an Artbeats sequence, mapped to a pancake shaped object. This shape proved to be important, otherwise the edges of the sequence would run off the sides of a flat plane. The various monitor screens are actually images taken from fish locating sonar devices and stereo equipment. Luminosity maps worked well here to add that natural glow.
